Life in Evergreen is about discovery, exploration, nature and adventure, so it’s not surprising our first-ever resident events offered all four.
Lifestyle Director Karina Hall put together events in February and March that allowed residents to explore the stars and get crafty with nature. Each event offered opportunities to learn, enjoy good food and meet other residents.
In February we hosted “Pondering the Cosmos,” a star-filled evening with three astronomers bringing telescopes and other equipment to our community so families could view the moon, a nebula and a planet. We also had a representative from NASA give a talk about space and the agency’s latest activities. Hungry stargazers were treated to Marcos Pizza. Adults enjoyed beer and wine. Everyone went home with bags full of space-themed goodies.
In March we welcomed spring with our Petals in Bloom event. Residents planted seeds in flowerpots they decorated. An H-E-B Master Gardener was on hand to help residents pot their plants and explain how to take care of the plants as they grew. H-E-B also held a basket giveaway. We invited the staff from our local Montgomery County library to come out and help people sign up for library cards. Planting flowers is hungry work, so we served up Chick-fil-A, light snacks and desserts.
Residents had a blast and are looking forward to attending the next event. Congratulations to Karina for her creativity! Want to join our residents? Stop by our stunning new model homes and pick out your dream home today!
