With the first taste of cooler weather and the return of pumpkin spice lattes, fall is right around the corner. To make the most of all the seasonal fun, make sure to visit a local pumpkin patch and put these fall events happening near Evergreen™ on your calendar:
What: Celebrate Oktoberfest at Fass Brewing with lager, German food, weenie dog races, stein hoisting competitions, live music by the Homebrewed Brass Ensemble and family fun.
Where: Fass Brewing, 236 N. Main St., Conroe
When: Sept. 27 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
What: Shop at First Baptist Conroe’s annual Deck the Halls Fall & Christmas Market, which raises money for college scholarships for the church’s student ministry. The market includes vendors selling seasonal decorations, clothing, crafts, toys, jewelry, baked goods, homemade honey and more.

When: Oct. 3-4 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
What: Savor Cajun food and music at the family-friendly Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, which is returning for its 36th year. The event includes three days of live music, Cajun food, shopping vendors, a carnival and a Mr. & Miss Catfish Pageant. Children age 12 and younger get free admission. General admission tickets begin at $33.
Where: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 9333 Airport Road, Conroe
When: Oct. 10 from 6 p.m.-midnight; Oct. 11 from 11 a.m.-midnight; and Oct. 12 from noon-10 p.m.
What: See the 2nd Annual Balloon Glow and Laser Show featuring live music, shopping vendors, food, hot air balloons, monster show kites, a kids zone and tethered hot air balloon rides. After dusk, the balloon glow and laser show begins around 9 p.m. Kids age 5 and younger get in for free. Balloon rides are available for $35 per person, plus admission. Buy tickets online.

When: Oct. 17-18 from 5-11 p.m.
What: Visit the free Fall into Fun Fest for families, hosted by North Houston Moms, with activities such as an obstacle course, face painting, a rock wall, entertainment, live music, shopping, food and more. Admission is free, but registration is encouraged.
Where: Heritage Place, 500 Collins St., Conroe
When: Oct. 18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
What: Support Sacred Heart Catholic School’s annual Oktoberfest fundraiser featuring games, prizes, vendor booths, a silent auction and fall fun for the whole family.
Where: Sacred Heart School, 615 McDade St., Conroe
When: Oct. 18 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
What: Get in on some spooky fun at VFW Post 4709’s Trunk or Treat event featuring a coloring contest, refreshments, Halloween crafts, a photo booth, games and candy.
Where: VFW Post 4709, 1303 W. Semands St., Conroe
When: Oct. 25 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
What: Spend the evening at FallFest at RiverPointe with carnival games, candy, food and more for some family fun time.

When: Oct. 25 from 4-7 p.m.
What: Bring the family to The Great Pumpkin Patch & Festival, hosted by Presbyterian Day School, for games, shopping, raffle drawings, hayrides, live music, a pumpkin patch, trunk-or-treating, food, and an outdoor showing in the pumpkin patch of the movie “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”.

When: Oct. 25 from 4-8 p.m.
What: Go trunk-or-treating at the Salvation Army of Montgomery County’s free Fall Fest with food, games, candy, prizes and a costume contest.

When: Oct. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
What: Take the family to Clover House Antiques for its Halloween celebration “Tricks, Treats & Treasures.” The event includes a trunk-or-treat with vintage cars, an outdoor Halloween movie, local vendors and specialty drinks. The antique store will stay open late for shopping, too. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and bring a blanket or chair to the movie showing.

When: Oct. 31 from 5-9 p.m.
What: Enjoy fall fun at the 25th annual Thrill at the Mill, a family festival including access to a petting zoo, zip line, playground, giant Lego room, chalk art, sports area, puppet show house, vendors market and a sandbox as well as mini golf, barrel train rides and photo opportunities in the pumpkin patch. Admission is $5. Hayrides, pony rides, pumpkins and concessions are available at an additional cost.

When: Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
What: Visit the W.G. Jones State Forest for the Deep in the Heartwood Festival, a free family-friendly event featuring nature hikes, garden tours, hands-on activities for all ages, games, educational presentations on local wildlife, and a Texas Arbor Day celebration.
Where: W. G. Jones State Forest, 1328 FM 1488, Conroe
When: Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
What: Bring the kids to Little Woodfest, a kid-sized music festival with hands-on activities near Conroe. From country and classical to disco and funk, families can attend mini concerts designed for young audiences. The children’s festival also includes a petting zoo, inflatables, crafts, performances, and a soft play area for toddlers. Tickets are $10, and children age 2 and younger are free.
