A new school bell is set to ring in Conroe on August 13 when Campbell Elementary opens its doors in Evergreen™!
The 150,000-square-foot facility will serve up to 950 students and reflects a strong support for educational growth in Conroe ISD. The $59 million school broke ground in 2024. It was made possible through a $1.9 billion bond referendum passed last November.
At the helm of the new school is Principal Christa Haymark. With an impressive track record in Conroe ISD, Haymark has been a valued leader and educator for over a decade. She began her career in 2008 as a 5th-grade science and social studies teacher at Vogel Intermediate School. Her passion for education and leadership skills led her to become Assistant Principal at Runyan Elementary. She then returned to Vogel Intermediate, where she served as principal from 2019 to 2025.
The school is named for Mittie J. Campbell, who was the first Black woman to serve as a principal in Conroe ISD.
Campbell Elementary represents more than our first onsite school, it’s a cornerstone for our growing community. From its modern features and historical significance to its convenient location and commitment to school spirit, Campbell Elementary is set to be a source of pride for families in Evergreen™.
