The calendar has turned from the blistering heat of August, and you know what that means? Fall festivals! Autumn is a great time to get out and spend time with family and friends while having tons of fun. Where should you go? Here are some of our favorites:
September
The Woodlands Renaissance Faire
10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23
Free
Stroll back in time at Rob Fleming Park. Enjoy children’s arts and crafts, face painting, local vendors, strolling entertainment, Renaissance-themed youth and adult costume contests and more.
10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30-Nov. 5
$24.95 ages 3 and up
The ultimate fall festival offers pumpkin-picking, carnival rides, pig races, fields of flowers, food, corn maze and much more.
October

Huzzah! The nation’s largest Renaissance Fair is back for it’s 49th year. Come out for turkey legs, games, costumed performers, special themed events and more.
6 p.m.-midnight Friday, Oct. 13; 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday, Oct. 14; noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15
$15 adults in advance, $20 at the gate. Free for ages 12 and under
Laissez les bons temps rouler! Conroe’s annual celebration of all things Cajun is back. Stop by for live music on four stages, food vendors carnival rides, kids’ zone and the Mr. and Miss Catfish pageant.
Noon-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7
Adults $20 in advance, $25 at the door. $10 ages 4-12, free for 3 and under
Local music sensations Josh Ward, Jason Allen, The Huser Brothers Band, The Lowdown Drifters, Jeff Canada and Jason Cassiday will take to the stage for a fabulous fall concert. Guests also will enjoy a kids’ zone, petting zoo, food trucks, vendors and more.

Pick your pumpkin and enjoy rides, food, fields of flowers, photo opportunities, carnival rides and more.

Dress your pet to impress and bring them out for a “paws-itively” awesome howl-o-ween. There will be a pet parade, costume contest, pet adoptions, silent auction and more. All proceeds benefit Operation Pets Alive.
7-Acre Wood Thrill at the Mill
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28
$8.50 admission
Come out for the pumpkin patch and stay for the petting zoo, mini golf, giant Lego room, a vendor market and more. Hayrides, face painting, pony rides, paintball, train rides and food are available for an additional fee.
Trunk or Treat Festival at Allendale Baptist Church
6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29
Free Admission
“Spook-tacularly” decorated cars will be filled with treats for costumed children to enjoy at this popular festival. There will also be music, games and more.
